It is understood that Shandong Mengshui Group, as a leading enterprise in the canned food industry, continuously increases investment in technological transformation, achieving Yuquan Glass's leading automation level in the industry, and also implementing the industry's "lightweight, thin-wall, high-speed" standards. In July last year, Yuquan Food's 20,000-ton cold chain logistics project was put into operation, solving the difficulties and pain points caused by the concentrated listing of agricultural products in Pingyi County, which led to low fruit prices harming farmers and the seasonal production and annual sales challenges of the canned food industry.

At the third session of the 19th People's Congress of Pingyi County, Meng Xiangshan brought forward a proposal titled "Suggestions on Promoting the High-Quality Development of Pingyi's Canned Food Industry."

Meng Xiangshan stated that the canned food industry is a traditional advantageous industry in Pingyi County. The industry started in the 1980s and, after 40 years of reform, innovation, and development, has now developed into a provincial-level industrial cluster mainly focused on canned food processing, supplemented by fruit planting, glass products, tinplate can manufacturing, color printing packaging, e-commerce, and other sectors. Pingyi's canned food industry has entered a new stage of high-quality development. As a deep processing industry of agricultural products, the canned food industry has made great contributions to increasing fiscal revenue, providing employment, driving agricultural industrialization development, and promoting farmers' income growth.

In recent years, some difficulties and problems have been encountered in the transformation and upgrading of the canned food industry. To promote the high-quality development of the canned food industry, Meng Xiangshan suggested: Pingyi County has a fruit planting area of 219,000 mu, of which about 100,000 mu is used for fruit planting as raw materials for canned food processing, with an output of 250,000 tons, basically achieving self-sufficiency. It is recommended to integrate 20,000 mu of specialized fruit planting areas in mountainous and hilly areas, guide leading enterprises to establish their own raw material planting bases, follow GAP good agricultural planting standards, form a management model of "leading enterprises + bases" and "agricultural groups + leading enterprises + bases," and realize a fruit planting system with standardized planting, large-scale operation, and standardized management. This will ensure the safe supply of raw materials for canned food enterprises while strongly promoting the professional development of agriculture.

The existing canned food enterprises are scattered, facing many difficulties and problems in land use, industrial steam, sewage treatment, and other aspects. Meng Xiangshan suggested building a canned food industrial park to standardize and cluster small and micro enterprises, provide intensive standard factory buildings, attract small and medium-sized canned food enterprises to settle in the industrial park, and promote the formation of a batch of large-scale canned food enterprises through resource integration and brand clustering. At the same time, fully leverage the leading role of canned food enterprises, build and improve a modern canned food industry system characterized by "product safety, efficient output, resource saving, and environmental friendliness," and promote Pingyi County's canned food industry to gradually become the largest, most distinctive, and uniquely featured high-end canned food industry cluster in the country. Simultaneously, plan and build the Shandong (Pingyi) Canned Food Industry Innovation Research Institute and the China Canned Food Museum to promote the high-quality development of the canned food industry and enhance the reputation and influence of Pingyi canned food.

Meng Xiangshan suggested planning and constructing a comprehensive logistics park covering canned food storage, online and offline sales, packaging, logistics, and centralized fruit trading. Through reasonable layout, further optimize regional development and industrial structure, truly realize a cluster development model of centralized fruit procurement, centralized product storage, and centralized online and offline sales, create a healthier and more orderly development environment for the canned food industry, effectively improve work efficiency, reduce operating costs, and substantially enhance the competitiveness and influence of the canned food industry, achieving leapfrog development of the canned food industry.
